Carbon Filters & Air Filtration Systems for Museums, Galleries & Libraries

Air pollution from contaminants such as SO2, NOx (NO and NO2) and Ozone can have a devastating impact on the priceless artefacts and collections held in our Museums, Galleries and Libraries, often leading to expensive restoration projects and even to irreparable damage.

High Performance Air Filtration Systems

Thankfully, the hazards associated with these common air pollutants can be minimized by the installation of a high-performance air filtration system, giving custodians of our Libraries, Museums and Galleries the peace of mind that they are protecting their collections, keeping them safe for many generations to come.

Competitively Priced Standard and Bespoke Filtration Solutions

AAC Eurovent has been manufacturing carbon filtration systems for over 30 years, and our competitively priced solutions protect some of the UK’s most prestigious Libraries, Museums Galleries and Historic Buildings and Palaces.

We offer standard and bespoke filtration solutions, based on the proven AAC Phoenix, a specialist impregnated activated carbon, designed to target and eliminate SO2 and NOx from both incoming air supplies and recirculated air. The type of solution selected is dependent on whether the filters are to be fitted within an Air Handling Unit or require separate bespoke housing.

AHU Filter Solutions for New Build Projects

The AAC Swiftkit® System is an AHU filter solution designed to enable Air Handling Unit Manufacturers to quickly and easily incorporate AAC PR Carbon Filters into the design of their Air Handling Units (AHUs) for Museum and Gallery applications.

The AAC Swiftkit® System offers Air Handling Unit manufacturers many key benefits:

  • Low cost and simple to install
  • Plastic refillable filter system
  • Suitable for use with the AAC Colourcell® Media Condition Indicator
  • Easy to retrofit on site
  • Standard parts (usually ex-stock)

Carbon Filters for Applications with Existing Air Handling Units

For Museum, Gallery and Library applications with existing Air Handling Units, AAC PR Carbon Filters can be installed using the AAC Skeleton Frame or AAC Swiftkit® System

Carbon Filters for Museum, Galleries & Libraries with Ducted Systems

For applications with ducted systems, AAC PR Carbon Filters can be installed into the compact AAC Swiftpack® system.

Activated Carbon

For Library, Museum and Gallery applications AAC recommend the use of Phoenix media, a chemically impregnated product formulated specifically for projects that require high removal efficiencies for SO2, NOx (NO and NO2) and Ozone.

Media Testing Service

AAC Eurovent offer a Media Testing Service, with some services being available free of charge – subject to terms and conditions. Media testing can take a variety of forms ranging from C.T.C (Carbon Tetrachloride Testing) analysis, R.C.T Testing (Residual Capacity Testing), Diffusion Tubes,  and Corrosion Coupons and AAC Colourcell®

AAC Colourcell® Media Filter System

AAC Colourcell

The AAC Colourcell® Media Filter System provides end users with a visual indication of the condition of their installed activated carbon and the assurance that they are achieving maximum benefit from their Carbon Filter System.
